Trabant experience in Budapest

Trabant experience in Budapest

Two young friends offering the best Trabant experience in Budapest

Have you ever heard about the Trabant cars?

The iconic plastic-made vehicle of the commie times? Budapest is the right place and these are the right guys to check it out! With 10 years of guiding experience, Balázs and his friend Mátyás offer the most unique private retro city tour again after the covid restrictions.

The well-maintained classic Trabant cars work without technical issues through miles and miles in the downtown. The tour covers the main highlights including the Castle of Buda, the Heroes Square, Parliament and view from the Citadell. If it wouldn’t be enough there are plenty of hidden gems in town like classic Cafés and memories of the past Communist era.

The program always starts with a brief introduction of the vehicles – checking out the engine bay containing a tiny little two-stroke motor or knocking the plastic body panels. What a quirky car, isn’t it? The two enthusiastic guys and their driver friends can share hundreds of stories for those who are interested in cars. They’re both stunt riders using their own Trabants for the shows, see photos below! Needless to say, there are several stops during the tours so not only about riding in a car, a great combination of walking in the city at several places in 4 hours.

Don’t forget to book a tour with them ahead of your next Budapest visit! They also accommodate larger groups using as many cars as needed. Or make your tour even more memorable with other shiny classic cars like the comrades staff car from the 60’s. Take a try!
